Over a year!

Man I am slacking! I can't believe that it's been over a year since I last blogged..... Can't really help it, big changes happened soon after my last blog.

August 2012 we found out we were pregnant with #2, so exciting, well after the morning sickness and that comes along with being pregnant.

On April 27th 2013 @ 6:04 am we welcomed Hayes Walker Looney into the world, we are forever changed.

I decided to get back into blogging not because I actually think people read my blog but just as an outlet for me. Having the 2 kiddos now = a VERY busy Mommy & Daddy.

I came back to work on 7/22/13, not wanting to be here is an UNDERSTATEMENT!

I miss my kiddos like crazy, Jackson is starting pre-K 8/19, I can't believe it's that time already, Hayes will be 15 weeks this Saturday. TIME, PLEASE SLOW DOWN!!!!!

Well that's all I have for now, keep checking back, I might actually blog about something soon!

Update on 2012 changes!!!

So far this year we have paid off quite a bit! I am very proud of my husband and I for sticking to it, even when it got tough!!! We still have a way to go but I am super proud of us!!

I haven't learned to cook anymore than usual but hey there's always tomorrow! :)

I trained for the 2012 Tour De Cure but I didn't get to ride! Apparently you have a band that run from your hip to your knee, and when you go from not exercising EVER to riding you bike like a maniac.... it freezes up. So I have to do physical therapy (that I haven't started yet) to be able to ride again! I really need to make that appt... like NOW!!!

Jackson turned 3 in June! He is growing up so quickly!!! He dressed himself for the first time yesterday!!! :) :( he is needing mommy less and less...... *sadface! oh well thats what happens right! Now if I could just get him to listen to me...

In other news I joined influenster!! they send you out products to try and blog about, I just recently recieved a box that had a quaker cookie, DenTek dental flossers for myself and Jackson, Stash tea, Impress Nails, a bar of ivory soap and nectar sweetener, along with some coupons ! I will do a bigger blog on all of those products later. You should all look into it! Really a neat website!!!

So 2012 started out kinda bllaaaahhhhh but its looking up! Maybe I will have more exciting things to talk about on here next time I write... :) See ya real soon!!! :)

New year (changes)

So almost everyone I know sets a resolution for the new year, but lets all be honest how often do we "get" to those resolutions? This year I have decided to make "changes" not resolutions! 2012 is going to be a WISER year! Here is our list of changes!

2012 Changes!

1. Becoming debt free! Love the way that sounds!!!
2. Eating out less (part of becoming debt free! and lets be honest I need to learn to cook!)
3. Cooking more often
4. Getting better at crocheting

I think that I am going to end my list there! If you know me you know achieving those goals would be quite an accomplishment! Oh, but there is one that I left off....

This year I am riding in the 2012 Tour De Cure, it is to raise money for diabetes research I will be doing the ride in place of my dad, whom has done this ride the last 2 years but due to gout he is unable to this year! I am riding with my mom, so we will get some AWESOME quality time together training and my wonderful husband has committed to helping me ride during the week (he is going to ride with me during the week) to help me train! I am so excited. If you are in the donating mood please visit my page http://main.diabetes.org/goto/ anyand all donations are appreciated! Thank you!!!!angelalooney

6. Brett bought me a new camera in hopes that I would start taking more pictures and stop taking Jackson to get his pictures done (he isn't a nice boy when you take him for pictures!) but 2 months after we bought it I dropped it. Wow!

Time has passed so quickly I can't believe it has almost been a month since I have blogged last.

Here is what is new with us, Jackson got a swing set and it is huge! I don't really have a great picture of him playing on it but here is a picture of it in our back yard right after it was finished. It took Brett, Andrew (friend) and Chip (Brett's mom's husband) and Kevin whom was such a huge part of it all we wouldn't have gotten a thing done (cough cough) a whole day and a half to finish it! WOW, but it looks amazing and Jackson loves it!

.

In other news, in my ripe old age of ..... 26 I had to go get glasses! BUMMER but I think that they look super cute! Tell me what you think.

So my BIL, SIL and nephew moved to Tampa, so nice to finally have them close!!! I have been really enjoying time with them and trying to help them get settled into their new house! I just hope that we have them a lot longer than Ohio got to have them.

Jackson is talking up a storm now, we can't understand everything which is kind of funny. He knows where his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and teeth are but he won't tell you what they are. He can show you a fish, dog, and cat, but he again won't tell you what they are. He is a man of very few words. LOL So I guess that kinda gets you caught up on what is going on with us. I haven't neede to make my own batch of laundry detergent yet so I will post when I do.

With Love

Bad, bad blogger.

I am going to start off with a little tribute to King George!

Now for some timeless hits

Too many full time positions!

I do not cook, I often say it is because I don't have time. Since I have a full time job and I am also a mommy and wife and we also travel about 60 miles a day to and fro work, I am always looking for the easiest way out for dinner.
Since I decided to take on the task of being more budget friendly and growing some of our own veggie : ) let's hope anyways, I decided to up my game on the cooking front.

Yesterday I tried out a reciepe I found online that sounded good but I just wasn't sure if it was going to be a hit in my little family. I made a mexican casserole, it has everything that you need in it! I wish I had taken a minute to take a picture of it but maybe I will get better at doing such!

2 cans croissant rolls
2lbs ground beef or turkey
1 med. onion
1 can of rotel
1 pkg. taco seasoning
8 oz Mexican velveeta sliced

Brown beef/turkey with onion, drain. Add rotel and taco seasoning. In a 9X13 pan or casserole dish roll out 1 can of croissant, mush edges together, add meat, add sliced velveeta. Roll out the other can of croissant rolls. Bake at 400 for 20 mins.

We made some refried beans to go along with.

Yummy!!!

New beginnings

The wood has been bought, still sitting in the garage. Maybe just maybe if the weather clears up soon Brett will be able to put my garden box together and we will be able to plant and enjoy the fruits of our labor and use it as a source to teach J about patience and hardwork.

Talking about the new garden box makes me think about my walk with Christ. Today I heard a saying that rings true to my heart. God is still God, and God is still good. Nearly 6 years ago I made a promise to myself to seek the Lord in all that I do, to make sure that his love would show through me. I have failed in this promise. I have decided to get back on track with Christ, to show others what unconditional love, and forgiveness is. I want J to grow up seeking Christ as well and to understand that Christ comes before all.
To know that his parents love him but that all the Glory and Honor be to God.

God is still God, and God is still good!

*** 8 days ***

Since I wasn't a very good blogger this weekend, which I regretfully feel that will happen just about every weekend considering I just don't enter the world wide web all that much on the weekend. I would rather spend my time with the little dude.

So I am posting not 1 but 3 songs today!

The first one I just thought was cute, I love the instrumentals, and melody and I often find myself humming it.

Song # 2 - Sometimes I feel like I let the world get me down. You have those days where nothing seems to go right. I am so thankful that I have someone to "Run to" to help me keep my head up, to make me laugh, to listen when I just don't feel like anyone else has.

And last but not least, there are several people I know that are not fans of this group, but I am going to have to "stick" with them on this song. I think that its cute and catchy and sometimes the person you love needs to be stalked (lovingly) LOL

Hope you enjoy!
Love,
A

This song reminds me of when I was pregnant. I would sing this to Jackson. How much more wonderful life is now that he's in it.

Lacking in the creativity department.

I love to read others blogs and see how creative they have been or what they do to cut costs, however I lack the creativity part of crocheting dish cloths or home making my own laundry detergent. Here is a list of some of the things I would like to try, to cut cost, become more green, or what have you.

1)
This year we are putting together a boxed garden. I will be attempting to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, okra, green oinons, and cantelope. I can't wait to see how this will work.

2) Crochet some dish clothes. They don't have to be perfect but that would save some money on buying sponges and they last forever : )

3)See full size imageReuseable paper towels. In my house we go through paper towels like crazy and they are not cheap. So I saw an idea of using cloth diapers cutting them in half and then surging them to keep them from fraying and they are good for about a year. Hmmmm I might give it a go I just have to find a sewing machine :  )

4)
Laundry Detergent - another one of lifes necessities. I don't thrive on whether or not my clothes smell like the summer breeze or a field of lavendar. I just want them clean. So I thought that I might try to make my own. In looking at it I think that this maybe something that could be done rather quickly and last for a while.

These are some of the things I would like to try. Whats the hurt in it, so my challenge to myself is to be greener for 1 year and see if it has made a difference. I have not made the switch to reuseable bags, I don't know if I will get there until Jackson is potty trained because having those little plastic baggies from the store has been a life saver on more than one occasion.

What are your challenges to yourself? Have you tried any of these things?

Countdown day 2

This is a very special song to me. It was the only song that Brett and I played at our wedding. I can still remember standing at the alter with him while the song was playing and how it felt to be marrying my best friend. Today, tomorrow, always and forever!
